1 lg onion chopped
1 stick margarine
1 cup flour
2 qts water
1 lb lean ground beef
2 tbsps beef base
1 cup carrots chopped
1 cup celery chopped
2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
2 cups canned tomatoes
1 teaspoon black pepper
Brown beef & drain fat. Parboil onions, carrots & celery. Melt margarine and whisk in flour to make a smooth paste. Whisk in water and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil; then simmer until vegetables are done.
